HOLOPHONE'S® H2-PRO
NOMINATED FOR TEC AWARD
Innovative Product Offers
Ground-breaking Surround Technology
TORONTO,
ONTARIO, JUNE 28, 2006 — Holophone ® is
pleased to announce that its
flagship product, the ground-breaking
H2-PRO
surround microphone, has been
nominated for the MIX Foundation's
Technical Excellence & Creativity
Award (TEC) in the Mic Technology/Studio
category.
Nominees were selected by a
panel of audio industry leaders.
Products that are selected must
represent a superior accomplishment
in their fields. The final selection
is made by votes from the 41,000
subscribers to MIX magazine.
Ballots will appear in the August
issue of the publication. The
technology pioneered by the H2-PRO
was recently recognized by MIX
when Holophone's H4 SuperMINI,
the world's first camera-mountable
surround microphone received
the publication's Certified
Hit Award for NAB 2006.
"It is a great honor for
the H2-PRO to be nominated for
one of the top awards in the
industry,"says Michael
Godfrey, president and founder
of Holophone. "We created
the H2-PRO to give audio technicians
an easier way to capture up to
7.1 channels of surround sound
audio instantly and in any situation.
Thus far, the feedback we have
received from industry insiders
has been extremely positive."
Used by Grammy-winning producer
Hank Neuberger and other leaders
in the industry on projects such
as the 47th and 48th Grammy Awards,
Superbowl XXXIX, and most recently
the World Cup, the innovative
H2-PRO is ideal for any live
recording situation – both
in the studio and in the field.
It utilizes the theories of head
related transfer function (HRTF)
to capture 7.1 channels of discrete
surround-sound audio in a single,
cost-effective unit. Features
of the H2-PRO include eight XLR
microphone connectors, which
are entirely compatible with
all multichannel I/O devices.
The unit is also compatible with
all surround-sound encoding/playback
formats (Dolby, DTS, Circle Surround,
IMAX, etc.).
For more than 20 years, the
TEC Awards have been the foremost
program recognizing the achievements
of audio professionals. Presented
each year by the MIX Foundation
for Excellence in Audio, the
TEC Awards honor the individuals,
companies and technical innovations
behind the sound of recordings,
films, TV shows and live performances.
It also contributes thousands
of dollars each year on behalf
of hearing conservation as well
as funding scholarships for future
audio professionals.
